“Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body the Church.” (Book of Common Prayer) It is baptism that brings us into our journey of faith and calls us into a life of ministry, service, and spiritual growth. As such, it stands at the very heart of our life with God.It is expected, therefore, that one seeking baptism, or the family of one to be baptized, will have an active involvement at St. Paul’s. Baptism is celebrated at the Easter Vigil (Saturday night before Easter Day), Pentecost (late May/early June), All Saints’ Sunday (the first Sunday after November 1), the Baptism of Our Lord (the Sunday after January 6) and/or on the occasion of a visit by the Bishop. Except for emergency situations, baptism is always celebrated as part of the parish Eucharist.
The next two dates for baptism are All Saints' Sunday (November 6, 2011) and the Baptism of Our Lord (January 8, 2012). If you are interested in baptism, please speak with the Rector or call the Parish Office at 728-4300.
