Contrary to popular belief, God does not take the summer off, and neither does the church. St. Paul’s has been intentional about keeping 52 equal Sundays, with worship, formation, and fellowship each and every Sunday throughout the year. That being said, it is important to recognize that the summer is (or should be) full of lazy, hazy days. It is a time to catch our breath, to lie on our backs and contemplate the clouds, literally and figuratively. So for ten weeks this summer we are going to do formation a little bit differently. Worship times remain the same – and the focus of our Sunday time together. We will continue to provide the Sunday Paper Junior for our young children, while giving them a break from their 9 am classes. And we are encouraging two formation opportunities for our youth: camp at the Episcopal Conference Center and Summer Fun at St. Paul’s. Look for detailed information in the Summer Messenger. Adults and young adults have worked very hard over the past months so it is time for you to shift gears and catch your breath, too. Instead of classes on Sunday morning we will gather at 9:15 am at Café at Park Place and have focused conversations about current events and the church. So bring your questions and suggestions for topics and join Fr. Bill and Mother Susan throughout the summer.
Let's dig into formation this summer!
There's a place for you!
